Question
is it ok to take three times the recommended dosage of vitamine for almost a week as im aware this is a fat soluble vitamin can this harm a person in any way how often can you do this ? i read somewhere that some adult performers and athletes do this for some desired effects can you shed some light on this and is it harmful?

Answer
Hello,

I'm not aware of any special performance effects of multiple doses of vitamin E.
There's little chance that 3 x the recommended dosage would be harmful after just a week. Yes, the fat soluble vitamins can build up in your system, but it takes time for that to happen.

The recommended daily intake of Vitamin E is 22.5 IU (International units) and many supplements provide 100 IU (more than 4 times the recommended amount). Taking this amount on a daily basis is unlikely to produce any ill effects.

There is also an established upper limit (which means *warning* do NOT take this much!) for this vitamin which is around 1000 IU, far more than a supplement pill. Megadosing to this amount on a daily basis can lead to internal bleeding and, especially dangerous, a bleed in the brain.
