potbelly

Question
Hi,
as a 28 year adult, I have a medium built, I'm not fat (used to be), but I still have some fat on the lower abdomen.
How do I get rid of it, whithout forcing myself into a plants diet? I work out with dumbbells and also run on a mill.

Answer
Hello Codrut

What you are talking about is known as "spot reducing", or getting fat off a specific body part.
Unfortunately there is not a way to do this. Your body stores fat where it wants to, and there's nothing we can do about it. If it's a small store of fat that won't budge there are surgical options. Exercising the area will build muscle there, not eliminate fat.

The only suggestion I have is to eat a bit less and exercise a bit more to see if it will gradually come off. It sounds like you've lost weight before, so I wish you continued success!
