Food Tolerence

Question
Hi Tom!
So the last few times I have eaten, lettuce, spinach, or broccoli I havent been able to digest it or tolerate it. Normally I eat salad 3 times a week & broccoli every other week. The last few times I have eaten these items within 10 minutes My stomach is upset & I'm constantly in the bathroom. I have tried eliminating other items such as the cheese, dressing or other vegtables, but I can tolerate everything except for lettuce/spinach/broccoli. I have eaten these items all my life & never had any problems up until now.

I am a very active and healthy person & it makes me sad that I cant enjoy some of the healthy foods I love when I've never had any problems with food before.  What gives?

Thanx

Michele

Answer
Hi Michele,

Have you been taking antibiotics recently? If so, it could have disrupted the balance of your gut bacteria, leading to digestion problems and food intolerances.

If that's the case then you could try taking probiotics for at least a year to help rebuild the balance of good bacteria along with eating cultured foods like kimchi, suaerkraut and yogurt.

There could be lots of other reasons for food intolerance - it's basically an immune system imbalance. It could be caused by heavy metal poisoning, hormone imbalance or several other things.

In addition to the probiotics I would recommend taking a fruit and vegetable powder supplement, even if you can't eat the produce fresh at least you can get the nutrients from a concentrate. You can read more about that here: http://www.tomcorsonknowles.com/blog/the-research-on-prevention-and-fruit-and-ve

I hope that helps!

Wishing you wellness,
Tom
