Question
Hi Matt
I am 48,5'8" 225 pounds.
Starting to lose a little weight with a program of calorie control and running.
Will losing the weight make me more athletic or perform better for soccer and tennis?
I dont have much time in my schedulr to exercise.
Or,should I focus on sport specific weight training and practice? Thanks

Answer
Hi Barry,

The answer is yes and no.

Yes, because as you lose weight you will be able to move easier.

But for the most part the answer will be no.

Barry,
If I wanted to get Kobe Bryant ready for the season would I take him sking? What about make him run cross country? or how about swimming?

The answer would be NO. I would need to get him into basketball shape, though the other mediums mentioned are great assets for getting one fit, it is not the best choice for getting Kobe basketball fit.

The same applies for you. What you are doing will help you get into better shape, which will allow you to play alittle bit better in your sports. But if you really want to advance in your sport, you must train for your sport.

Have you seen www.FreeWorkoutPass.com?

There are alot of short workouts designed for soccer and tennis on there.

Check it out and let me know if I can be of more help.
