I need motivation

Question
I am a 15 year old girl with a body mass usually ranging from 24-27.

You didn't ask for my diet and exercise information but I'll give it to you anyhow, since I saw you ask another person for their information. I don't eat breakfast or lunch, and when I come home from school I binge on about 2000-3000 calories. Then usually a couple hours later I'll have a smaller binge, usually around 1000 calories. I generally don't exercise at all. If I do exercise, it抯 usually walking or a few crunches or Pilates. Everything I eat is pretty healthy, I think, it抯 just the amount I eat. I eat whole grains, beans, nuts, fresh fruit & vegetables, soy products. I am actually a vegan, but because I eat so much I am still fat. I know how to be healthy: eat less & exercise more, do aerobic activities. I just need the motivation to do these things. I want to be good to my body, I want to look good & I want to feel good. But whenever I don't binge I start to feel really anxious. I know I should be eating breakfast and lunch, but I've tried eating both several times, and that hasn't done anything for my binging, it usually just made it worse. A few times a month I will purge or abuse laxatives, or fast for a few days which makes me lose enough weight to maintain a steady weight. An overweight weight, but its a steady one. I feel disgusting and like a huge blubbering elephant. My mother is taking me for counseling next week for "depression" so if you think that will be able to help my eating habits, I will have access to that. So, I don抰 really know what you could do for me, but I抦 in desperate need of motivation to stop this, and to start a new, healthier lifestyle.

Answer
Hi, Leah. Thanks for your question and all the information.

The first thing you must change as soon as possible (!) is not starve yourself in the morning. Whether you are hungry or not in the morning (I am usually not), you must eat regular smaller meals every 3 to 4 hours. When you don't do that, your metabolism slows down and when it finally gets the food, instead of burning it, your body accumulates it in a form of fat deposits. It's a scientific fact today that our bodies have memories, and when you starve them, they are afraid that you are going to do it again and they put the foold you eventually eat away and store it in your body. Not healthy.
Besides, if you eat in the morning, you won't be binging that much in the afternoon because you won't be so hungry.

4000 calories is way too much for a 15 year old girl. This kind of intake is only good for a big bodybuilder. I am glad to hear that you eat healthy food because it makes a difference where the calories are coming from, but still, you must only consume half the calories. Once you start regulating your meals and having small meals every three hours, this problem will take care of itself.

I urge you to stay away from soy. Although it's a good source of protein, few people know that it's also a major source of estrogen that encourage body to produce and store fat.

EXERCISE IS ESSENTIAL TO WEIGHT LOSS. NO diet in the world will help unless you make an intense cardio exercise (such as interval running, running up the stairs and similar exericses for at least 20 minutes per day). This is essential to removing toxins from your body and jumpstarting your metabolism.

Lastly, and most importantly - about motivation:
