I have been trying to loose weight ever since the doctor put me on paxil, I have gained 40 pounds with this drug.  The doctor then put me on phentermine to help me with my enormous appetite.  I want to know, how long can I been on this drug befor loosing weight and before it stops working

I am not a big fan of weight loss drugs or surgery. The underlying problem--the person's unhealthy lifestyle is what needs to be changed and permanently so.

I have seen thousands of people successfully lose weight when they successfully improve their actions--their lifestyle.

An enormous appetite is best helped by drinking 1/2 your body weight in fluid ounces of water. Nature's best appetite suppressant. Check w/ your doc for any problems w/ drinking water and your medications first!

As for what to expect w/ the drug, your doctor would have to answer that. sorry!
