lap band removal

Question
I recently had my lap band removed due to nausea constant vomiting and pain.  I am still not able to eat any solid foods and if I do its only little bites.  I am still vomiting and having pain in my left upper quadrant.  I feel like I still have a band that is full in place its hard to swallow.  When should all of this stop?

Answer
Kaylee,
Most of the time, when a Band is removed because of problems the patient experiences relief of symptoms immediately. If you continue to have pain and/or swallowing problems then you definitely should see your surgeon again soon. Your surgeon may be able to explain why you still have symptoms, and if not then additional testing such as CT scan or endoscopy or Barium swallow may be useful.

Best of luck!
