Arthur’s Weight Loss Story!

When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I was always unhappy with it but when I was around 17-18 years old, I just had enough and was ready to change.

What made you decide to lose weight?
I wanted to have friends, a girlfriend and join the Marines. I was denied so much because of my weight problem. I was never treated for who I was but what people saw me as, so with that I tried for many years to lose weight. It was not until about 1-2 years ago that I succeeded doing it for a girl and for myself and it has changed my life forever.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
My diet plan and working out at home and also at the gym. It has literally changed my entire life from top to bottom. Music helps me a lot because it gets me going when I think about stopping.

What was most challenging about losing weight?
I failed so many times and did not see results and gave up. I expected it to be easy, but it was the hardest thing to do.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
Probably the first month or so, when I noticed my stamina increasing and in some places I looked different like my legs for example, but that was not until later.

How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
Probably 1-3 years. I’m still trying to lose everything completely and still have 15-30 pounds to go.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
Work and not eating too much. Work really keeps me fit and I bike 12 miles to work and do a 5 hour shift and go home. It definitely has an impact on my body.

How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I have so many friends and so many girls like me now! My mom is happy and so am I. I feel good when I look in the mirror and think to myself that it was worth it. It paid off! I’m healthy, strong, fit and that’s a plus for me.
