Florence’s Weight Loss Story!

My life has gone through many changes over the last 2 years. The biggest was in November when I celebrated my second anniversary of “finding myself” and getting healthy. THAT is a big one in itself. Two years ago, I entered a weight loss clinic due to the “day of reckoning” where on a jet I couldn’t fasten my seat belt. Three days after my business trip, I checked myself into Solutions For Life, a weight loss clinic. Through the clinic, I met some very awesome, wonderful people whose stories I will never forget as long as I live. Through the first year, I went through many inner struggles, fought off food, fought off the 325 pound woman who took ME away all these years, fought off the negativity the world has that surrounds a person who is trying to change into BETTER things. The beginning of June 2008, I hit my goal weight with a loss of 165 pounds. Through 2008, the fight that I have been fighting, has gotten easier in ways, however, the demons of obesity whisper my name in the background reminding me never to let my guard down.

August 11th, I had the first of the surgeries to remove the old “shell” of me left over from losing 165 pounds. Monday, January 5, I will be having my second surgery to help say GOOD-BYE to my old suitcase that I used to carry around. I feel very blessed to be able to do this, as not many women get the opportunity to get rid of the excess “whatever” that hangs around after losing so much weight. I am looking forward to going back to school this January to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, doing personal coaching for others who need a little motivation and direction, and have my EYES set on the Mrs. Kansas Pageant! Then the Mrs. Kansas United States! Although I have set personal goals, my biggest goal is to educate my 7 kids on health and nutrition so that they grow up healthy and active!!
