Pixie’s Weight Loss Story!

When did you become unhappy with your weight?
After I had my second child in Sept of 2004.

What made you decide to lose weight?
Fitting into a size 18W was not my idea size. I had never been that big nor had a problem with my weight until I had children. I was always athletic and played sports through college. I saw a picture of myself and knew it was time to do something.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I joined weight watchers and got my portions in control. I didn’t eat that unhealthy, but my portions were always king sized. I also gave up the fast food that was always so convenient. The last 5 months I have really added consistent exercise into my lifestyle.

What was most challenging about losing weight?
Learning to cook meals that were good and low-fat that my family would also eat and making time for myself to exercise and weight in.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
I saw myself getting smaller in probably 6 months, my clothes were a lot looser and I had gone down a size or two. In the last 3 months, I have really noticed results with respect to toning up, I HAVE ABS!

How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
Close to 19 months.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I have maintained it for 7 weeks now. I have continued to monitor portions and to exercise. I can eat a little more now since I am maintaining. I still try to follow the good health guidelines. I also continue to weigh in each week and go to the weight watcher meetings.

How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
Going from a size 18W to a size 8 and sometimes a size 6 makes shopping fun. Also, I had back problems before and since I have lost the weight and workout regularly, my back hasn’t bothered me in the least. Also, my husband can’t keep his hands off of me!
