Claire’s Weight Loss Story!

When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I always said that I would focus on myself and conquering my weight after my 4th baby weaned. When he was 3 years old, I looked in the mirror and realized it was time to focus on ME.

What made you decide to lose weight?
When I could no longer fit in regular department store sizes, I realized it was time to do something.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
More sleep, lots of exercise, and no longer obsessing over food.

What was most challenging about losing weight?
There were about 4 months when I felt that I was truly starving. After that adjustment period, my stomach shrunk and I got used to eating smaller portions.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
4 months.

How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
One year.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I’ve had a few plateaus, but I’m now losing about a pound a month. I’ve replaced fat with a lot of muscle, so I’m seeing fewer changes in my weight and more changes in my inches lost.

What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
Looking in the mirror and getting to purchase tiny, cute clothes without being afraid to enter a dressing room.

How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I spend much more time exercising alone, but it’s nice because I haven’t had any alone time in years!

Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
I was never a skinny girl and always had excuses such as, “Well, I’m just not built like that or I have big bones”. I had no idea that my skeleton is actually smaller than I realized! You CAN be one of those skinny girls!

How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
It is encouraging to see others’ weight loss success stories as motivation for my own.
