When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I was always healthy as a child and teenager. But after gaining 50 pounds and receiving comments from everyone, I realized the unhappy state of my mind.
What made you decide to lose weight?
Seeing my old pictures and not fitting into my favorite dresses made me realize how important it was to shed the extra pounds.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Kicking the junk food was the major change I had to make for weight loss.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Changing my whole lifestyle was not easy. Leaving what you love to eat and starting what you’ve never tasted was really challenging.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
Within 15 days, I lost 6 pounds. That was really motivating to go ahead in this journey.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took 8 months to reach to my current weight.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I have been maintaining my weight loss for 6 months. For that I workout every day.
What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
When people come up to me and say “what a change” and follow me when I post my pics on Facebook. That’s really motivating!
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I have become more confident. I know I can achieve whatever I want to irrespective of any field.
Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
Weight loss is a mental challenge along with a physical one. Never give up! Go on until you achieve your goal. Don’t get fit for summer, a boyfriend or a party. Get fit for life, your soul and treat your body like a temple.
