Sheena’s Weight Loss Story!

When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I’ve been overweight what feels like most of my life. I’ve tried several diets but always quit.

What made you decide to lose weight?
I was tired of wanting it. I spent over a year following others on Instagram who transformed themselves and it inspired me to start documenting my own journey.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I changed the way I thought about losing weight, I was mentally ready for this journey. I started off with small changes and learned a new lifestyle.

What was most challenging about losing weight?
Binge eating. Sometimes I would want to eat just to eat. A few months ago was a hard time for me because my father was diagnosed with liver and lung cancer. Trying to stay positive and not use that as a reason to give up was big for me. I used it as a reason to push forward.

Documenting my journey, inspiring others and being able to run and play with my 3-year-old. Also, my large support system and participating in different races. I fell in love with the lifestyle. It’s important to remember it’s not a “diet”.

How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I’m a new person! A year ago I would do a race once in a while and now I’m making a schedule for races in 2015. I’m an active person and I enjoy going out and doing things that I never wanted to do before.
