Tyneshia’s Weight Loss Story!

When did you become unhappy with your weight?
My size 14/16’s were very tight. I felt sluggish, miserable and looked even worse!

What made you decide to lose weight?
I never felt good after eating processed food. EVER! I can remember even as a young girl, I always seemed to think you were supposed to feel “horrible” after eating fast food. I didn’t know you could feel better! It wasn’t until I became an adult and started living a hectic lifestyle, that I thought to myself…there’s got to be a better way. Extreme fatigue and being unhappy with how I felt and looked made me take action.

What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I changed my nutrition and started to weight train and do cardio 6 days a week. Once I made those changes, my body adapted, I felt energetic and the weight started to melt off!

What was most challenging about losing weight?
Being the only one in my “circle” that made the lifestyle change. Being around my family and friends who didn’t eat clean or exercise was hard at first, but I stuck with it because it was extremely important to me.

How long did it take you to start to see results?
About 6 weeks. I noticed that my clothes were getting big. After 6 months, I had lost roughly 35-40 pounds.

How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
The initial 30 pounds were lost and maintained for 2.5 years. During my grandmother’s illness and eventual death, I gained about 10 pounds more. I got back on track with the help of a fitness team to compete in a bikini competition and lost 20 pounds to make it a total weight loss of 52 pounds.

How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
In two months, I will have maintained my weight loss for 3 years. I continue to eat a whole foods diet of lean protein, fibrous and complex carbs and fruit. I drink 1-2 gallons of water daily, weight train with cardio 6 days a week.

How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
My life has changed dramatically! I feel better than I did when I was 25 and I’ll be 45 years old in less than 6 months! My energy, confidence and outlook on life are more positive. I love to encourage and help others to live a healthier, fit lifestyle. I will study for my personal trainer certification in 2011 and plan to compete in 2-3 local and national competitions to get into the best shape of my life!

How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
