Now subtract this from your current weight and the difference is the weight you're aiming to loose. Also take a piece of measuring tape and measure around your waist. This will help you keep watch over your body proportions. Remember, you want to reduce excess fat stored in your body, not the muscle mass.

3. Calculate your Caloric Intake: eat as you normally do for a whole day and meticulously calculate your total calories eaten at the end of the day. Now don't go quit cold turkey, make a gradual cut in your daily caloric intake, starting from 500 calories. And decreasing week after week.

4. Water: water is a natural appetite suppressant, a natural cleanser and the medium in which all the synthesis reactions of the body take place. Take 8 glasses of water daily and 2 more if the weather is exceptionally hot or dry. For weight loss, take 8 ounces daily or every pound you are overweight.

5. Balanced Diet: a balanced diet is essential for healthy weight loss. A healthy diet is composed 30% of protein, 30% of carbohydrates and 20% of fats. But by protein it means you'll focus on healthy protein found in white meat and beans. Among carbohydrates you're to take complex carbs found in whole grain, whole wheat, brown sugar, etc. and unsaturated fats are components of a healthy diet rather than the saturated ones.
