Types Of Weight Loss Supplement

Weight loss supplement are natural or chemical additives that help the body to burn the stored fat. Most weight loss supplements work by suppressing the appetite. The thing to remember about supplements is that they are just that桽UPPLEMENTS! You can't get by using supplements solely and not taking proper nutrition in the form of food. Supplements are recommended by dieticians and physicians when an individual is unable to get the required nutrients from food. There are different kinds of weight loss supplements, some very effective, others not so much.

1. Vitamin C: Vitamin C is a natural fat burner. It liquefies the fat stored in the body. For individuals deficient in Vitamin C, a supplement may greatly augment their weight loss regime. Naturally, fruits and green leafy vegetables are rich in Vitamin C, but if these don't fulfill an individual's body requirement, then a supplement is the way to go. Vitamin C supplements are generally sold over the counter, but it would still be a smart thing to do to consult your physician about taking it.

2. Calcium: calcium is now being added to a lot of weight loss programs as a supplement. It's great for the bones, and if your food is low on calcium, or your body is suffering from calcium deficiency, a calcium supplement will really help you overcome that. The degree to which this supplement will help in weight loss is still under study, but most dieticians have discovered that their patients are low on calcium and when the deficiency is made up, the body responds well to it. Supplements are also available which contain both Vitamin C and Calcium.

3. Thermogenics: these are dietary supplements that focus on increasing the body's metabolism. They cause the body to burn a greater number of calories and also boost energy levels. A lot of the Thermogenics act as appetite suppressants as well. Currently there are two kinds of Thermogenics available in the market. The first kind act as stimulators while the second kind regulates the thyroid gland. The most popular of these are;

4. Synephrine: also known as Citrus Aurantium or bitter orange. The physiological effect of Synephrine is similar to that of Ephedra in that reduces weight by targeting the fat stored in the body as sources of energy, boosts energy levels and suppresses appetite. But what's great about Synephrine is that it has none of the adverse affects of Ephedra such as irregular or increased heart rate or high blood pressure.

5. Caffeine: caffeine is used in a lot Thermogenics to help increase metabolism. It's effective but on its own it won't help weight loss much. It has to be combined with a vigorous workout plan. Most dieticians recommend taking a caffeine supplement before a workout to boost energy levels and be able to work harder, thereby burning more calories.

6. 7-Keto: 7-keto is a metabolite of DHEA. It has very little side effects and greatly increases metabolism. This one is not a stimulant. It doesn't increase metabolism by stimulation, it directly goes for the thyroid gland. It increases the release of T3, which is directly responsible for the body's metabolic rate. Hence, 7-Keto is proving to be effective for weight loss.

You won't find any physician or dietician who just hands you a bottle of pills and tells you weight worries are over. The secret to effective and healthy weight loss is still in a balanced diet and consistent exercise. Supplements are just to fill up deficiencies and help the process on its way.
