Want To Lose Weight? Have More Sex

Amid all the trends and research for weight loss these days, one solution is sorely overlooked.

Orgasms.

That’s right. Orgasms not only make a body — and spirit — beautiful, but they can curb your food cravings and enable you to lose weight. Effortlessly.

Just like with eating, it can be tempting to take the quick and easy route of junk-food sex.

Instead, try a steady diet of high-quality, gourmet-sex and connection.

And plenty of orgasms.

It’s a way of life that keeps you slim, trim, and fantastically healthy. It's based on thousands of years of research and development; in essence, it's a return to our true natures.

Here are some weight-loss-related benefits of a high orgasm count:

1. It makes your belly svelte.

Frequent orgasm and doses of oxytocin (which floods the body at orgasm and also builds on arousal) wipe out cortisol in the body. Not only is cortisol your major stress hormone and libido-depleter, excess cortisol contributes to abdominal fat. Want to lose that belly? Up your orgasm quotient.

2. Sexercise is the best form of exercise.

A good sex session is the equivalent to a hard-hitting cardio routine or a power yoga class. It revs up your heart rate, burns the same amount of calories and builds strength and endurance (especially if you are a marathoner like me). And there are certain sexual positions that, when held for extended periods of time, strengthen subtle and small muscle groups, much like a Pilates workout. Core strength to the max, folks.

3. It's the best all-in-one superfood.

The chemicals released on the path to orgasm and after orgasm are the best of your body’s pharmaceutical cabinet. They lift your mood, increase your metabolism and immunity, lower your rate of heart attack and heart disease and give you a healthy, beautiful glow. If you're low on ingredients for your morning goji/chia/hemp smoothie, have sex instead. Or do both.

4. It brings emotional and mental serenity.

When you're well-loved and well-sexed, you feel deeply fulfilled.

This is probably the most important feature of a life with plenty of orgasms: its ability to nourish you so profoundly causes your cravings for less-healthy substitutes to evaporate.

You stop reaching for food and you reach for your partner instead.

Our intimate connections have more impact on us than any other factor in our lives.

Says Dr. Dean Ornish:

“Love and intimacy are at the root of what makes us sick and what makes us well, what causes sadness and what brings happiness, what makes us suffer and what leads to healing … I am not aware of any other factor in medicine — not diet, not smoking, not exercise, not stress, not genetics, not drugs, not surgery — that has a greater impact on our quality of life, incidence of illness and premature death from all causes.”

We settle for “junk-food sex,” even in long-term relationships, rather than gourmet intimacy. We're starved for high-quality, authentic and raw relationships.

We all need a place to let go. To take down all of our walls, unburden and recharge. Your bed can do this for you.

The key to life-changing intimacy is having a place where you can truly let down your guard, and throw everything into the fire and be reborn. This is the essence of orgasm too: the state in which you truly let go and release. Hence the term, “la petite mort” or “the little death.”

The path to getting rid of excess baggage lies within. Deep within.

When we allow the deepest parts of ourselves to be seen, touched and loved, everything changes. When we feel connected to ourselves, to another person and the world at large, we finally feel fed with the right food.

Your intimate life is one of the most powerful tools you have available to you to uplift, replenish and heal.

Use it.

It’s free. And plentiful. That’s your food source.
