8 Weight Loss Struggles Every Stay-At-Home Mom Understands

There is no doubt that losing weight is difficult. But when your full time job means you can wear your sweats and have access to a fully stocked kitchen any time you want, it can be even more difficult. From craving kid food to sitting for hours playing chauffeur, we hear you. The struggle is real!

1. It’s Yoga Pants O’clock All Day, Every Day

They are like a comfortable hug for your butt. They can be easily washed and still fit. They don’t pinch or fold when you are bending to pick up after baby. The best part, they aren’t jeans. Jeans are way too honest.

2. Making It to an Exercise Class Is a Workout in Itself

Going to a class means finding one with childcare, preparing and packing snacks, loading kids into the car, hoping no one throws up on the way, and listening to the screams of children while you work up a sweat. Invigorating…. Forget going to the gym, get over 80 hours of real time, on demand workouts any time, any place, with SweatFlix℠!

3. Leftovers Laugh In Your Face

Your wee one barely touched his steamy, cheesy macaroni at lunch. Like you are really going to throw it out and eat a salad instead!

4. You’re Constantly Crashing

You will, LITERALLY, eat anything to get that 4 p.m. energy boost. Sugar packed gummy fruit snacks don’t stand a chance.

5. There Are So Many Freakin’ Celebrations

A little birthday cake here and there isn’t bad but why are there so many birthday parties all of a sudden? It feels like you are constantly whipping up a batch of cookies for some special occasion. It would be wrong to not taste test.

6. Your Butt is in Perma-Park

Uber drivers ain’t got nothing on you! School drop off and pick ups, play dates, soccer practice, doctors appointments. You are stationary for hours and it is exhausting!

7. Feeding Time is a Frenzy

The kids need to eat. So do you. There is about 5 minutes to make it happen. You de-crust the bread and make sure they are at least eating some veggies. By the time it is all over, you can’t even say what you’ve shoved down your own throat. It was all such a blur. You may even have blacked out a little.

8. Watching Is Boring

Kids do things. You, you are on hand for emergencies and/or meltdowns. It can be boring. So, you finish off that bag of chips because it is the only thing that will get you from afternoon play date to kiddie bed time. Close your eyes, dream about the quiet. And that glass of pinot.
