Quick Weight Loss And Staying Slim

With the Quick Weight Loss method, followed as instructed, you will attain your desired or ideal weight. Now the problem arises, how can I keep my weight down? How can I prevent that dangerous excess fat from creeping up on me again?

The combination of varied Stay Slim Eating and occasional return to Quick Loss dieting, if necessary, has made staying slim a happier, healthier way of living for thousands of women and men. It can do the same for you pleasantly and practicably.

Make no mistake about this梱ou do not go back to the eating habits that made you fat before. You must keep watching your weight. The happy surprise is that the techniques which have resulted in your losing weight make it easier to maintain ideal weight.

Instead of going on an eating binge after the diet, as some of my patients might have expected, they discovered that they had lost much of their exaggerated desire for rich foods and overeating. You don't have as much trouble fighting temptation because that driving hunger has diminished.

Furthermore the majority of my dieters, and most hopefully you too, realize that as dependence on food and meals diminishes, your other pleasures increase. You usually become more aware that there is greater joy in other activities, in work and in play, in awareness of the world around you, in the physical pleasures of walking, looking, seeing. You're often released from such irritations and chronic ills as indigestion, lethargy, restricted movement, shortness of breath and other common symptoms of overweight. (Note well however that while weight loss is a great aid, it is not a cure-all. Any continuing aches, pains or irregularities should mean a visit to a doctor without delay lest you by-pass urgently needed treatment for some ailment not due specifically to overweight.) Not the least reward you get from this reducing is the surge of pride in your proved willpower. These all-important assets, plus your now habitually decreased appetite, help you form the habit of effective Stay Slim Eating that keeps your weight down. You also keep benefiting from the Quick Loss method for the rest of your life by using it intermittently when necessary.

Watch The 3-Pound Danger Signal

This is primary advice to put into effect to maintain desired slimness. Get on an accurate bathroom scale unclothed the first thing every morning as surely and regularly as you brush your teeth before breakfast. "The horridest of horror tales ... is often told by bathroom scales." Any time you see that scale mark 3 pounds more than your desired weight, consider it more serious than if your thermometer showed 3 degrees or more over your normal temperature.

If you climb past that limiting 3-pound number, don't tell yourself that "I'll go easy next week," or "I'll take it off after a while." Take it off now. Starting that day or the next, go back on the Quick Weight Loss Diet for a week.

Fundamentally your Stay Elim Eating from now on will depend on calorie-counting as specified in this article. However, the big difference between this method and usual calorie-counting on "balanced dieting" as urged by others is the combination with the Quick Loss method. This is of utmost importance: this combination is the crucial asset which turns past failures into future rewarding success. That vital variance is why most of my patients have been able to maintain their ideal weight year after year.

Case History

Specific examples of how well this combination dieting works are the cases of my collaborator, Samm Baker (5' 10 1/2", age 56) and his attractive wife, Natalie (5' 4", "Over 40").

A chubby youngster, Samm went off to college at age 16 and trimmed to his normal weight of 155. Over the years after college he varied between 155 and 165 by counting calories and limiting his intake accordingly. By age 54 his weight had crept up to close to 170 and he varied between 162 and 170 although he wanted to get back to 155 for the sake of best health and appearance. He attributed his weight-losing difficulty to the demands of social and business eating.

Natalie had a serious weight problem as a youngster. Between ages 13 and 17 she weighed 167 pounds, wore size 42. Her fat was considered "a family characteristic." She hated being fat with all the social problems involved for a high school girl. Her family thought that fat was a mark of health and good living. Doctors gave her no support, said lightly that she'd "grow out of it." Summers at camp she would lose to or 15 pounds, then gain it all back after returning to mother's cooking and urging to "eat, it's good for you."

When she went off to Radcliffe College she determined to become slim. She invented her own rigorous diet, living primarily on cola soda and peanut butter crackers, skipping the dormitory meals. On vacations at home she had to pretend to eat because her mother was alarmed, then she'd return to her strict dieting at college. By age 19 she weighed 109 pounds and wore size 8.

All through this 2-year lopsided dieting she had never been ill even though she hadn't taken vitamins because the concept for everyday usage had not yet been developed. She had become beautiful, admired and socially popular which is food indeed for a woman at any age.

Through the years of marriage and raising two children she maintained her weight by unceasing calorie-counting as she had "a tendency to be heavy." However, similar to her husband's case, her weight crept up as high as 130 at times (averaging about 125) although she felt best and believed she'd look best at 118. She couldn't get down to 118 on maintenance dieting.

At this point I introduced them to the Quick Weight Loss method for losing weight rapidly. They wrote out the diet, attached the sheet to the wall above their dinette table, and went on it together. Within a week each had lost 7 pounds. They returned to Stay Slim Eating for 3 weeks, then up went the Quick Loss Diet on the wall for another week. After the second week, Samm weighed 155 pounds, Natalie 118 pounds.

They've stayed at about this weight for over 2 years at this writing. Any time they gain over 3 pounds more than desired, they go back on the Quick Loss Diet for from 3 to 7 days. They state that their desires for food have diminished. They both look and feel wonderful (as friends keep telling them), and they find enjoyable Stay Slim Eating "a cinch" combined with the quick reducing diet.

Friends to whom they've introduced this method are just as enthusiastic, even more so when they're heavier to start with. They too find it easier to keep their lower poundage figures with an occasional return to the Quick Loss Diet.
