Fat Jokes You Can Take To The Grave

We make jokes about all kinds of things to help ease the tension of our own reality. SNL's Chris Farley used to make jokes about his weight to help ease the feelings and insecurities he had for being over weight.

While we all laughed at his fat guy in a little coat joke, inside he wasn't smiling. A few months ago there was an article in Rolling Stone Magazine that talked about Chris's long term battle with weight loss and how being the token fat guy in so many jokes ultimately led to his demise and overdose with drugs. While obesity wasn't the clinical reason for his death, it was the root cause.

How do you feel about yourself when you look in the mirror? Are you happy with what you see? Are you proud to wear a bathing suit? Do you have total confidence in your body? If the answer is no, then what are you going to do about it? You're not alone. 85% of Americans suffer from some form of depression, and two thirds of those people blame their body for the reason they are depressed. No matter what you have tried to do in the past, you can be successful. I promise that this time will be different!

Tell me if this sounds familiar. You wake up in the morning and step on your scale in the bathroom. OMG! You gained 10lbs over the past few months. You tell yourself, "I need to do something. I'm gonna join the gym and run on the treadmill." After a lengthy sales pitch, much like at a car dealership, you officially join the neighborhood gym. First you start going everyday. Then you settle down a bit and make it three times a week. Before long, you are too busy and quit going all together. Days turn into weeks which turn into months of not going. The whole time, Gold's, Bally's or whoever never calls to check up on why you aren't coming into the gym.

However, you decide to change accounts or cancel whatever credit card you were using for payment and what happens?... You get a phone call immediately from your gym demanding the money you owe. Sound familiar?

What was the problem? Who was at fault? NOT YOU! You didn't do anything wrong. The problem wasn't that you were skipping out on training. The problem was that the gym was skipping out on supporting you!

The fat loss industry is the only industry that failure from a given product is put onto the consumer. Does that sound right? You probably feel like if you had the right program, or knew exactly what gave the best results then you would do it. It can be that simple, but first you have to do it.

Now I know that regardless of whether you have a lot to lose or just a little bit, it can be very scary to start a program to get rid of unwanted body fat. Especially when so many other programs have failed you. That's why you need a total support system more than you need a workout regimen. I'm not saying that every workout is created equal, but I am saying that regardless of what the workout is, it's much better when you do it!

Set up short term goals or even daily goals. By doing this you will feel a sense of accomplishment. That wonderful feeling will help to keep you motivated. Also enlist the help of a friend for moral support. Programs like NA and AA are so successful because of the accountability that is brought on by a friend or sponsor. Take a page out of their book and get the job done. Finally don't look at the big goal of losing say 100 pounds. That can seem impossible. Instead only worry about today. If every day you take just one step, then before you know it, you will be on top of that mountain victorious!

Just remember that your goals are no laughing matter. They are important to you. If you really want to make a difference, all you have to do is believe! You CAN do it! You ARE worth it! You DO deserve it! Don't let me be the only one who believes in YOU!
