Thinking Ahead To Lose Weight

The worst eating decisions are usually made when hungry is combined with exhaustion & stress. How often do you make a horrible eating decision when you are hungry and stressed out? You know, the kind of decisions that you regret for the rest of the day (if not longer.)

You will always feel worse after you shove that cheeseburger or pizza down your throat without really even tasting or enjoying them. This is always your next step, but instead of thinking just to your next step as in "I need to eat, I will eat anything" try thinking another step past that, how will you feel after you choose to make a better decision?

When we just think about what is in front of us and are reactionary to stress and hunger chances are we will make the quickest decision that will comfort us. These decisions often times keep us from our weight loss and nutritional goals. This goes for fitness goals as well.

At the end of the work day, when you still have tons to do at home or with the kids its normal to want to just sit on the couch and watch TV. You have to go against your mood to not exercise and to will yourself to do it anyway: exercise. When you're in that mode chances are you will not want to exercise, you will want to rest.

When these situations arises it is more beneficial to your goals to get past the next step of "resting" or "eating" and making a real decision about what action will bring you to your goals. When you find ways to deal with stressful situations that also bring your closer to your goals, your self-confidence will soar. The more you get past the day to day humps of life and preserver, the stronger you will become. It's not selfish, it's smart to put your health first. You should take pride in yourself and in who you want to become so that you can make the decisions which will allow you to gain control over your health.

Consistency is key when reaching our goals and helps us to envision how wonderful it feels when you work hard to make something happen. Find ways to inspire and motivate yourself to make choosing healthier actions a lot easier. Whenever you make a healthy decision you should write down and over some period of time you will see how those healthy decisions add up and that will help to provide a sense of momentum and motivation for you to keep making these types of choices.
