     The general definition of obesity is if you are 30 percent over your ideal weight. This is where most people would like to know just what their ideal weight is of course. Your ideal weight is a subject of much hoopla to me (I'll put my view points on this after). Most doctors involved with obesity or weight loss deem ideal weight as " A body mass index (BMI) of 25 up to 30 kg/m2."

Most of the obese people suffer from utter depression. This depression immediately follows low self esteem, emotional instability and mere loss of dignity. The underlying cause of such mental breakdown, of course, is the obesity. Obesity also brings many other complications at health course. There are increased risks of heart disease; diabetes; hypertension; joint deterioration; osteo arthritis, gall bladder disease etc. are very few of them which, over time, lead to severe depression.

Causes of Obesity:

They include lack of physical exercises, changing lifestyle, consumption of fast and oily foods and substances rich with fat and others. However the worst fear is that, if this trend continues, by 2025 it will be more than an epidemic. This is certainly a new disease, a disease of the 21st century. Besides, these extra pounds of flesh are also regarded as the vital sources of several diseases like heart diseases, stroke, diabetes, cancer, arthritis and hypertension. Suppressed emotions from past life events and your current emotional wellbeing have a direct impact on weight gain and the inability to maintain a healthy weight. Food is just the scapegoat used to blame our problems on it. Food does help to put on weight but it is not the direct cause for it.

Treatment for Obesity:

-#The overzealous use of painkillers, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-depressants and birth control pills should be stopped if they can be. These drugs cause immense fat as they increase a person抯 appetite and the need to eat more to ease their increased hunger pains.

-#A healthy food chart should be maintained so that there isn抰 any additional fat added to the body of an overweight individual. In this effort, help may be sought form a nutritionist.Weight loss product can be a big help.

-#Alcohol should be avoided religiously. All attempts should be made to avoid getting alcoholic fat cells in the tissues of the body. Nobody is asking someone to practice one-hundred percent abstinence but a restriction is imperative.

-#Care should be taken that the diet is still nutritionally balanced. A balance must be struck between adequate food and luxury dishes.

-#The most effective therapy to cure obesity is to change certain behavior patterns. An obese individual should lower their food intake, consuming low calorie food, use of a clinically proven weight loss product, participating in regular physical work and exercise three times a week or more.

-#Always try to drink a lot of water in place of soft drinks having high amount carbohydrates. These will help you a lot in cleansing yourself and as a result you will be energized than ever before.

-#There is also a good need of exercises. Well, if you don't like, it's not necessary to go to the sphere of strength training. But in that case you should follow the lessons of free hand exercises methodically. These include swimming, cycling, walking and also jogging.
