How To Lose Weight Permanently - Finally A Straight Answer

How many times have you tried to lose weight by embarking on one of the many diet programs that are available today? Only to find that once you stop the diet and go back to eating, what you may consider normally, then gradually your weight creeps right back on - perhaps plus a little bit extra. Unfortunately this will always be the case until you are able to make a permanent change to your eating and drinking habits.

Habits, both good and bad control all aspects of our lives and so much can be changed by identifying bad habits and replacing them with good habits. In some circumstances all that is needed is a modification of some our bad habits.

This is especially true when it comes to losing weight. If you want to lose weight permanently then you must set about changing either your drinking or eating habits. Perhaps a little of both is what is required. Research by independent groups has found that you will not lose weight permanently until you make permanent changes to your eating and drinking habits.

It is important that you only work on changing one habit at a time. Too much change in one go can make the task too big. Constant but steady change will ensure that the method will work for you. Identifying one bad habit and then working to replace it or modify it will bring you results. The process of permanent change will not take as long as you may fear.

It is widely recognized and research has proved that if you can work on any habit change for just 30 days and stick to it for that period then that habit change will have become permanent. As you progress your new habit beyond the 30-day point every additional day will act to reinforce your belief system to your new habit.

Proving that this concept will work for you only requires you to choose one drinking or eating habit. One that you think is part of the weight loss problem that you want to work on. If you want to choose the one you consider the easiest it does not matter. Pick one and start working on it.

Keep your focus on the one habit you have decided to change and keep working on it until you feel certain in your mind that the change is permanent. The most important word in that sentence is focus. As with all aspects of our lives success will come with total focus.

The difficulty with so many diet plans that are available is that they demand major change to your eating habits right from the outset. That can make the task far too great. It is probably the reason that success rate for many is so low. Much better to start with one change, take a little bit longer to achieve your goal but then know that you will lose weight permanently.
