History of the Body Magic Shaper

Ardyss International's Body Magic body shaper and other garments have raised the bar for the shapewear industry. Developed by orthopedic surgeons, Ardyss' shapewear boast more than just aesthetic properties, but healthful benefits as well. Body shapers or shapewear have been around for a very long time.

We do not know exactly how long, but we do know that for the longest of times women have done almost everything they could think of to promote their best assets and hide their physical flaws. They did this so that they could appeal more to men or simply to get a leg up on other women. Women throughout the world, from Africa to South America, have a long history of wrapping their abdomens after childbirth. In these countries, long pieces of fabric were used for wrapping, which was similar to wearing a corset.

The modern-style of corsets gained popularity around the 1500s, as many portraits from that time show. Around that time, corsets were made from iron, wood, or whalebone, and were not at all comfortable. Over the next several centuries, wearing a corset came in and out of favor throughout the western world, as corset wearing came under intense scrutiny.

Jumping to the early 1900s, the bra was patented in 1914 and with the creation of Lastex which was latex made into fabric; metal boning and whale bone were discarded from bras and products like the girdle emerged, which was used to hold up thigh high stockings and flatten the stomach. A girdle is an elastic undergarment designed to shape and smooth a woman's figure. In addition, during the 1900s, when women sought equality, corset wearing became passe and lost its popularity with mainstream society. However, girdles were here to stay.

Recently, girdles, and other shapewear have made a resurgence as many women see the advantages of reshaping their waistlines, as well as bouncing back after childbirth. Today, most cutting edge girdles are made from a single item or mix of nylon, Lycra Spandex or Powernet. Garments created from these materials or a mixture of them have proven to be some of the most comfortable and durable shapewear that's ever been manufactured. These materials are light and easier to wear and have the ability to mold and shape the body just as well as their predecessors.

The Ardyss Body Magic body shaper is designed by an orthopedic surgeon to reshape the body by reducing it up to three dress sizes while speeding up the process of weight loss. Ardyss implemented orthopedic principles to fine lingerie. Instead of using iron ribs or rigid pieces that could be hard and annoying, Ardyss replaced those items with bands and with elastic materials, such as Powernet. As a result, the garments deliver orthopedic benefits, and are comfortable to wear as well. The Ardyss Body Magic also does what is called "Lipo Transportation."

The term "Lipo Transportation" was coined to describe the process of moving fatty tissue from one part of the body to another. This is the method where fatty tissue is moved from where it is not wanted to where it is needed. The garment works by lifting and rounding a woman's bum, reducing the waist, tummy, underam, and back fat, and lifting the bosom. It gives a woman an overall smoother hour-glass figure. This garment is perfect for the times women want to fit into that "special" dress in the back of her closet that she thinks she can no longer wear.

The Body Magic is also perfect for strengthening the core of the female skeletal system as it promotes correct posture of the spinal column. Not only does it make a woman look slimmer, her body will acquire a poised and confident carriage. The Ardyss Body Magic gives an instant tummy tuck, breast lift, rounded, fuller-looking bum and great Posture, all without diets, exercise, pills or surgery!
