Checking labels before eating food is going to be important from now on in your diet so that you know with absolute certainty what you're eating.

On your new diet you need to next make sure that you begin eating the right foods. To prevent hunger pains you should try to eat healthy meals low in calories but also very filling (hint: think fiber). Find healthy alternatives for calorie packed snacks. Replace chips with fruit for example.

Make sure you are not eating portions that are too big, no matter how healthy they are. You will not lose fat if you eat too much food, even if it is healthy. Check daily to make sure that you are eating the right amounts of the right foods. It may surprise you to know that the serving size for a piece of meat is actually the size of a deck of cards which isn't much.

Working out is a great way to compliment a diet which sometimes alone isn't good enough.

The first reaction a lot of people have is to get down on the floor and start doing as many crunches as they can. Unfortunately though that is not the best approach to losing abdominal fat. Running till you are ready to collapse also isn't the best approach.

Stress results in certain hormones that cause us to store more body fat. It may surprise you, but taking the time to relax is good for more than just your mental health.

Some of the best methods I've seen are meditation and yoga. It's amazing what a few candles and some calm music will do for you after a hard day if you don't see yourself really doing the whole meditation or yoga thing.
