Reprogram your Mind to Lose Weight

Losing weight is more in your mind than in your body. When you condition your mind to take more action, losing weight becomes easy. Everything you do is 80% Psychology and 20% Mechanics, meaning 80% is just getting yourself to start eating better foods or doing more exercise and 20% is physical part of eating healthy or doing the exercise.

Pain vs Pleasure

We all move away from pain and towards pleasure, you're no different. Think of a time in your life when something got so bad you decided to make a change. You may have got to that point in a relationship or a job where enough was enough, you couldn't stand it any longer and you made a change. You moved away from the pain of the situation and you started looking for more pleasure. Losing weight is the same, you have to reach a point where you say; 'No more, I'll not be overweight and lazy anymore!' In order to allow yourself to reach this situation so taking the necessary action to lose weight is easy; you need to create pain and pleasure in your mind and condition it over and over.

Grab a piece of paper and draw two columns, one for pain and one for pleasure. List all the negatives you'll continue to experience and you'll experience in the future if you don't start losing weight today! Things like laziness, fatigue, health risks, look and feel terrible, people laughing at you etc. Now under pleasure list all the great things losing weight would give you, like increased energy, look and feel great, less risk of disease, confidence, constant compliments etc. By doing this you create enough pain in your mind which drives you to take the necessary action to lose weight, and enough pleasure to continue losing the weight.

Write this list down every day for three weeks without fail. You'll create new empowering habits in your mind that will allow you to take more action to lose weight quickly and easily.

Visualize Losing Weight

Start by visualising big, bold and colourful images in your mind of yourself losing weight and enjoying the process, like you're in a Hollywood Blockbuster Movie. See yourself eating healthier foods, and enjoying exercising. See how great you'll look as you're having fun losing weight. Now in your mind see everything through your own eyes in this movie. See everything you'll see as you're losing weight by eating well, exercising and having a great time doing it. Now begin to hear everything through your own ears while you're losing weight. What does your internal voice say when you're having fun losing weight? Make the sounds loader and richer as you start to feel amazing feelings of energy and vitality spread throughout your body while you're in this movie. Everything is playing out perfectly, you're looking good and feeling great and losing weight is easy and fun!

Visualize like this for 10 minutes every day for three weeks. The important thing to remember is to make the images big and colourful, the sounds rich and loud and the feeling strong and intense. This will reprogram you mind to start taking more action to lose weight.

The reason you visualize like this is because you're mind can't tell the difference between what's real and what's vividly imagined. By creating these great pictures and awesome feelings of yourself having lost the weight perfectly, it drives you to take more action to lose weight. Your mind now believes it's already lost weight successfully and because it can't tell the difference between what's real and vividly imagined, losing weight becomes easier as it'd like doing it for the 2nd or 3rd time. You know its much easier doing something the second or 3rd time which again allows you to take more action to lose weight.

These two strategies will reprogram your mind to allow you to take more action and by mastering the 80% Psychology the 20% Mechanics of losing weight is easy!
