     How often do you look in the mirror, stare at your reflection and fervently wish that there was some sort of magic powder or pill you could use to instantly shift your body to become the size and shape you've always dreamed it could be? How often do you think "I could stand to lose a pound or two." How often are these wishes and thoughts paired with wishes for more energy for exercising, more time for cooking, more desire to eat healthy foods and less cravings for salty and fatty junk you can get at a fast food restaurant? These wishes are incredibly common. Even if you like your current weight, you have probably wished to weigh less at least once in your life. Here are some weight loss tips that you can use to help yourself get off to a good start.
Don't drink anything but water. Believe it or not, the easiest way to cut down your calorie intake each day is to eschew drinks like soda, alcohol, juice and energy drinks. Cold water is good. Water does not have any calories. It helps keep you hydrated and is important for your overall health. Even if you just delete two servings of soda each day you will be cutting out at least two hundred calories (or more, depending on the brand and type of soda you drink). In addition to cutting down on the calories you take in, replacing all of those other drinks with water helps you reduce your sugar intake, how much high fructose corn syrup you consume and other bad ingredients that don't help your health.
Start reading the labels on the foods you purchase. It probably seems like a huge pain and a waste of time to do this but you need to believe something: ingredients matter. You want to avoid ingredients like hydrogenated oil and/or high fructose corn syrup. Trans fats are your enemy. Make sure the foods you buy do not have these ingredients in them. Substitute new brands that are similar but healthier for the ones that you have previously been buying. You might not notice an immediate difference but your body has an easier time dealing with healthy food.

Find a distraction when you are working out. Try listening to music or watching television if you exercise at home. Try reading a book when you ride the stationary bike. Distracting yourself will keep your mind off of the work your body is doing. If you have something else to occupy your mind, you are more likely to keep doing your workouts. Distractions are a great anti-boredom device. It is harder to see results from working out if you get bored during the routine and start to slack off to make it go faster.
Weight loss is something that everybody thinks about at least some point in his or her life. A good attitude and a healthy dose of inspiration are very important if you want to successfully lose weight. If you keep your outlook positive and you find ways to put positive spins on your program you will have a lot more success at getting down to your goal weight!
