Some Foods to Say a Big No to When Losing Weight

A majority of people have trouble with their weight. Since most of the foods people eat are processed to save time, the human body suffers from it. Most people prefer to eat junk food and sweet stuff because it is convenient. But unfortunately, these foods are the ones that make people gain weight. People do not get a lot of nutrients from the food they like to eat and they gain more weight because of a lack of exercise.

In America, 33.8% of adults are obese. The US is famous for super sized servings. People on the go prefer to have a very large burger with fries that goes very well with a very large soda, add a sweet dessert to finish it all up, gaining a whole bunch of calories in one meal. In order to be successful in losing weight, people must cut back go slow on eating processed and 'fast' foods.

Too much of everything is never good, especially eating too much sweets and junk food. People need to eat a healthy balanced diet in order to avoid diseases like diabetes and heart problems. They must be aware of the foods that are considered harmful to the human body if eaten too much.

Foods like sweets and anything that contains refined sugar and milled flour, as well as white rice are not good for the health because the little nutrients in them are lost when these foods undergo refining. Too much heat applied to these products remove the vitamins and minerals in them that when the body ingests it, only the sugar remains. This sugar stays in the body as unused calories if not burned by working out.

Chips are also bad for the health. Everyone has been eating potato chips since it was invented in New York in 1853 and it was also first mass produced in our country. People spend millions just to buy this product that is famous in parties and game nights. However, the salt content of these products can cause kidney failure and other diseases as well. Trans-fatty acids are also found in chips, French fries and packaged snacks.

Consuming food that has batter and has been deep fried is also a reason why most people have a hard time when losing weight. In some Southern states, frying is a staple way of cooking at least one item in a meal. This way of preparing food produces trans-fat that will be kept in the body and also stops metabolism from burning the fat into energy. Trans-fatty acid also increases the bad cholesterol while decreasing the good HDL ones. It would be better to cut back on potato chips and rather eat nuts instead since the latter is healthier. It would be better to make one's own chips at home. Try to bake some greens drizzled in olive oil.

Soft drinks are also considered hazardous to one's health because of its high sugar content. Sugar in the form of fructose corn syrup is found in most sodas and fruit juices at a high content. Most American children that consume a lot of these drinks have a 33% chance of developing type B diabetes. It would be better to drink freshly squeezed juices instead.

These types of food can shorten the lifespan of people significantly. They, in turn, are major causes of health issues that plague the country nowadays. In order to avoid developing diseases that cause death and for a person's efforts in losing weight to be more successful, it is best to stay away from these foods. People should instead eat foods rich in vitamins and minerals and also start exercising.
