The Benefits of Training Partners

I have always thought it was strange that most people training to look better do it in a completely different way from people that train to perform better. Most Glasgow personal trainers advertise the fact that they offer one to one training like this is the best option for training. There are some situations where one to one tuition is required. Music lessons and driving lessons spring to mind but there are many more where one to one attention may be much less effective than group training. People normally go to the gym on their own but most elite level sports people train in groups. This applies to individual sports like athletics just as much as it does to team sports. Considering how much money is at stake in huge sports like football, rugby, basketball and athletics if is fair to think that those involved will seek out the best methods to improve performance. It speaks volumes that group training is the method of choice for the best sportsmen and women in the world. So what are the benefits of training in a group?

Everyone can benefit from having a few extra sets of eyes on them to help them out with coaching points. People often fail to make any real progress in the gym because of a lack of self awareness. The feedback you get from your training partners about your technique keeps quality high by keeping you honest and only quality training produces quality results.

Short bouts of training never amount to much; you have to adopt training as a regular part of your life to see meaningful changes in your body. If you like the company of the people you train with you are far more likely to persist long term. Camaraderie is one of the great strengths of group training, knowing that everyone is working to get to the same place makes it much easier to keep training as part of your life. Training is like everything else in life, it's much easier with friends.

Everyone has sessions where they just can't be bothered training. If you train in a group you can be sure that your training partners will do what it takes to lift your enthusiasm and get you through a productive session. Without training partners you are much less likely to have a productive session or just abandon it altogether.

So find a small group of 2 or 3 other people that want the same results, arrange regular times to train together and watch your improvements skyrocket!
