How to Burn Fat with Fat

In the past, fat has been badly rapped in most discussions about weight loss. More and more people struggle with burning fat. It is a common belief that fatty foods can cause weight gain. This is why some weight loss dietary plans eliminate fatty foods such as French fries, pizza, hamburgers and others.

These fatty foods according to research can increase the level of LDL cholesterol which is not good to health. However, recent studies on fatty food have shown that all fatty foods are not bad. All fatty foods are not created equally. What makes the difference is the nutritional content of the fatty foods you are eating. There are some that are good to health and helpful in weight loss. If you want to lose weight without putting a total stop to fatty food, your fat intake should be more of unsaturated fats such as monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fats.

Sources of these types of fats include seeds, fish, nuts, olive oil, leafy vegetables, avocados and others. These foods contain a lot of nutrients required for the proper functioning of the body. You can burn down excess fat without reducing your calorie intake by consuming unsaturated fat.

According a study published in 2009 British Journal of Nutrition, participants that were fed with most unsaturated fats have less abdominal fat and lower body mass than the participants whose intake of unsaturated fat was limited. The reason for this is because the quality of the former is higher than the later. Besides, unsaturated fats get rid of bad cholesterol from the arteries. This helps to enhance proper circulation of blood in the body.

It also enhances the function of the heart. Fat provides more energy to the body than protein and carbohydrate. If you are not eating enough fatty foods, you are therefore depriving your body of the energy it needs for the proper functioning of its metabolic process. Fats are like fuel with which the body burns down calories for the release of energy to the body. If your body metabolism is functioning very well, you will lose extra fat.

This is because it is during this process that excess fat is burnt down for the release of energy. Washington University School of Medicine researchers have proved that old fat stored in the peripheral tissue of the body around the thighs, belly and butt cannot be broken down properly if there are no new fat to facilitate the process.

This is because dietary fat activates the fat-burning pathways through the liver and PPAR-alpha. This will help to burn down the old fats. The digestion of fats takes longer than that of other food substances. The implication of this is that you will be full for a long time. This will reduce your cravings for food.

From the above, it is evidently clear that you can achieve weight loss easily by consuming fatty food. However, you should mind the type of fatty foods that you eat. It is not all fats that are good to the body. Saturated fats can increase the level of the LDL cholesterol in the body while the reverse can be said of unsaturated food.
