Weight Watchers Is Not The Only Diet Plan. Slimming World May Suprise You!

Slimming World was established in 1969 in U.K. and boasts that in the past 40 years has had 5 million simmers attend their groups. The organisation has expanded to USA and Canada. However, if you compare Weight Watchers to Slimming World they both share common features in that you go to sessions where you get weighed and their weight change is revealed to the group but not the actual weight. The hour session then discusses losses and gains, strategies, recipes and general support.

Now let's get down to the important issue of the diet itself. The basis of the diet is Red Days and Green Days which allows for plenty of lean, satisfying protein plus energizing carbohydrates for a balanced diet, and low in fat.

GREEN Choice.

On days when you feel like filling up on pasta, jacket potatoes, vegetable curries and chillies, you will love the green days. Enjoy unlimited pasta, rice, baked potatoes, bakes beans, pulses and grains, plus vegetables, fresh fruit and very low fat yoghurt and fromage frais .

RED Choice.

If you feel like an all-day breakfast of eggs and bacon, roast beef, fresh fish or seafood, you will be in heaven on an Red day. You can enjoy unlimited lean beef, lamb, pork (including bacon), chicken, turkey, fish and seafood, plus fresh fruit and most vegetables, very low fat yoghurt and fromage frais. You can choose to alternate the days for variety or you can do all green days or all red days the choice is yours. There are Free Food and Choose Healthy Extra Options foods for both Green days or Red. You can eat as much as you like of the free foods and a certain amount of the Healthy Extra Options. Syns Any food that is not free, has a syn value. If you cannot take what you want as a free food or a Healthy Extra, you may still be able to have it if you count it as a syn. You choose how your syns every day e.g. chocolate, mayonnaise etc. You should aim for 5-15 syns per day, averaging approximately 10 syns per day ideally. It sounds quite complicated but actually, it is not. What it does mean is that you have a lot of choice. For example on a typical Red Day you could enjoy the following:-

Breakfast - Scrambled eggs with bacon and tomatoes, 2 toast, whole-grain bread. Snack - Fresh fruit salad. Lunch - turkey rolls. Onions, garlic, and mushrooms brown over high heat for 5-6 minutes. Fill and arrange the finely chopped steak turkey. Complete and pinned a toothpick or cocktail stick. Bake in oven until ready 190'?C and serve it with salad. Snack - plums. Dinner - Meat Casserole. Mix ground beef with crushed onions, garlic, carrot and celery. Lay in the form, the top cover with a layer of thinly sliced potatoes. Bake in the oven until the potatoes becomes golden.

I think I could manage that couldn't you? I've known people who have been on both the diet programmes and the majority found it easier to loose weight on the Slimming World. Another advantage of slimming World is that it is not so commercialized as Weight Watchers. Yes you pay to attend the weekly groups but there is one book to buy and that contains all the information will require including many recipes and plan ideas.

Conclusion

If I was to make a choice between the diets for choice of food, variety, cheapness and easy planning, I would lean (no pun intended) towards Slimming World.
