Are You Doing All the Right Things and Still Not Losing Weight? Discover What's Missing

We are bombarded by weight loss success stories on TV and in magazines, "It way so easy!" It can be downright frustrating if weight loss has been elusive for you, so if you are tired of hearing about how other people lost weight and you are ready to implement a strategy for your real life challenges, then please read on.

There are many obstacles that are common to people who struggle with their weight regardless of their social status, upbringing or genetic makeup. Chief among these obstacles is a feeling that even when they try to exercise and eat right they cannot lose weight and keep it off.

You can do all the right things, you can eat less sugar, cut back on your portion sizes, and start a walking program and even though you are doing all these things your weight still doesn't drop. What is the problem?!

Well, it's not that you are lazy - you're not. It is not that your body doesn't work right or there is something wrong with you. The problem is that your plan is incomplete.

It is possible to lose weight by using diet and exercise alone but unfortunately this typically requires a fair amount of willpower and only 5% of people who lose weight this way will keep it off.

However, by adding the missing piece you can greatly increase your ability to lose weight and maintain that weight loss. What is missing? It is called your Weight Mindset and it is a powerful predictor of your weight loss success or failure. It is the missing link that determines whether you will successfully shift to a healthier lifestyle or return to your old habits and it has nothing to do with willpower.

Your Weight Mindset is a collection of the thoughts, feelings and beliefs you have in your head about food, dieting and your weight. It began to form when you were a child and it has been developing and refining inside you ever since. It is a part of your subconscious mind so it operates below your conscious awareness yet it is very powerful because it influences all of your habits and behaviors.

You can get a glimpse at your Weight Mindset by answering a simple question. I want you to use only one word to answer and go with the first word that comes to your mind.

Ready?

Using only one word, describe your body.

If your word was beautiful or fit, congratulation this indicates a beneficial mindset. However, if your word was negative, such as fat or lazy, then your Weight Mindset is not congruent with the positive changes you are trying to make and it will make losing weight very difficult and keeping that weight off even harder.

Your Weight Mindset is a way your mind generalizes and organizes all the information you get bombarded with each day. It acts like a filter allowing you to only see evidence that is congruent with your thoughts, feelings and beliefs about yourself.

So if you are doing the right things, like dieting and exercising, yet you are always thinking you are fat or you believe you will never change you are filtering out any evidence that supports your goal and only accepting the evidence that supports your faulty belief making weight loss difficult and making yourself feel hopeless.

There is a way to change your Weight Mindset and make it beneficial so it helps you on your weight loss journey. It is a simple 5 step formula:

1. Build a Strong Desire
2. Believe in Your Ability to Change
3. Commit to Your Plan
4. Know that You are Worthy of a New Healthier Body
5. Be Flexible so You Can Deal with Unexpected Circumstances

By Mastering these 5 steps you rise above the problem of weight loss and form a Weight Mindset that is now in line with your actions. Tired of hearing about how other people lost weight? Revise your Weight Mindset and before you know it you will have your own success story to share.
