To keep up with this standard of beauty,a majority of women are determined to be as slim as can be. What seems more inconceivable is that they expect to be thin in an instant. They would either resort to diet pills or quick-fix exercises, or fad diets. As diet pills have numerous adverse effects and any exercise seems tedious, a large percentage of women turn to fad diets.

With the way they have been publicized, fad diets seem tempting as they promise to melt fat like snow off a rooftop when spring sets in. As with any fad though, they eventually fade away until other new fad diets would come up seeming to be more appealing and convincing than the other. Fad diets come in different packages. Often they focus on a single food, such as the “Watermelon Diet”, or the “Hard Boiled Egg Diet”. Then there are fad diets that concentrate on several foods like the South Beach Diet or the Israeli Army Diet which is a classic, simple diet for four days.

On the first day, only apples are eaten, on the second day cheese, on the third day only chicken and on the last day only salad is eaten.
