Discover How Your Metabolic Endocrine Type Holds the Secret to Weight Loss!

As you may know, REAL Metabolic Typing recognizes 24 different metabolic types. These types are based on the "settings" of your unique metabolism.

There are three primary systems involved in real metabolic typing. The first system, your nervous system (and more specifically, your Autonomic Nervous System or ANS) controls the organs and glands involved in processing your food. Your second system, the Oxidative System, performs the chemical breakdown of the food you eat.

These two systems establish your "metabolic dominance." This dominance indicates which of these two main systems is the one most "in control" in your body when it comes to nutrition. Generally, one of these two systems will be dominant, and a particular "setting" within the dominant system will be in control.

Each and every person will have one of these systems in control. In order to eat correctly to improve your health, you need to know which system is in control.

But beyond improving health, many people want to lose weight. And there is a third system in real metabolic typing that is absolutely critical for weight loss. And that is the Endocrine system.

Your Endocrine Type can play a key role along with your metabolic dominant type to help you control your weight. Eating right for your "metabolic type" alone WON'T guarantee that you'll lose weight, especially if you are eating wrong for your endocrine type.

So before you take ANY metabolic test, make sure that the test will tell you your Endocrine Type. Otherwise, don't waste your time or money!

In working with clients over the past several years, I've found that the endocrine system is not just important for weight loss, but also to many of the health problems plaguing us in the modern world.

Many health problems including weight problems can be linked directly to endocrine system function. Because of the importance of the endocrine system, I'm currently pursuing specialized education and certification in endocrine system function and how it affects nutrition.

At the simplest level, many people gain weight because they eat food that disrupts hormone secretions in their endocrine system. When you disrupt these secretions, your body does not get the right signals about what to do with the food you eat.

Endocrine-based weight gain happens when we eat in a way that "over-stimulates" one endocrine gland. This gland then overproduces certain hormones that interfere with hormones produced by other glands in the endocrine system.

For example, if you eat food that puts your adrenal glands into "overdrive", you produce too much adrenaline and cortisol. The overabundance of these hormones then interferes with the proper processing of the food you eat. More than likely, you'll find yourself accumulating stubborn pockets of fat in your abdomen, your back, or your upper arms that just doesn't seem to go away.

As we mentioned last time, the endocrine system is extremely complex, with many different glands. However, when it comes to metabolism, there are four primary "glandular types".

These four types describe the current balance, or more accurately the imbalance, among the hormone secretions in your endocrine system. That is, your Endocrine Type describes which glands and hormones are most susceptible to being overstimulated!

Let's take a brief look at each of the four endocrine types:

1. Adrenal - This metabolic endocrine type generally has overactive adrenal glands. These glands that sit just above the kidneys are responsible for handling "stress" situations by producing the hormones we mentioned above - adrenaline and cortisol. Weight gain in Adrenal individuals may happen when the food they eat overstimulates the production of these hormones, which can interfere with the signals from the pituitary and thyroid glands.

2. Thyroid - This metabolic endocrine type generally has an overactive thyroid gland. The thyroid gland, near the throat area, primarily secretes a hormone called thyroxine which directly affects how nutrients are processed. Food that overstimulates the thyroid gland can cause "spare tire" weight gain, interfering with hormones from the adrenal glands and gonads.

3. Gonadal - The gonads refer to the testicles in males and the ovaries in females. This metabolic endocrine type generally has an overabundance of hormones produced by these glands, such as testosterone and progesterone. Food that overstimulates the gonads can interfere with the pituitary and thyroid hormones, causing "saddlebag" weight gain.

4. Pituitary - The pituitary gland, near the base of the brain, is extremely small, about the size of a pea. Despite its small size, it is one of the most structurally complex organs in the endocrine system. Overstimulating the pituitary gland can cause "baby fat" weight gain.

Of course, you can't just look at a person's weight gain pattern and decide what Endocrine Type they are. That is just one of many factors that determine your type.

So how do you find out your Metabolic Endocrine Type, and more importantly, how to eat correctly for your Endocrine Type?

The 120 characteristics we collected when you filled out your MetaTyping Nutrition Plan profile help give us not only your Metabolic Type, but also your Endocrine Type. So to find your Endocrine type, all you need to do is look at the customized profile you receive with your MetaTyping Nutrition Plan.

At the top of your profile results, you'll see a section that looks like this:

Nutritional Assessment - Example
Part 1
Your Metabolic Typing Assessment Results:
AUTONOMIC: PARASYMPATHETIC
OXIDATIVE: FAST
ENDOCRINE: THYROID
DOMINANCE: PARASYMPATHETIC

In addition, scroll down your profile to the section entitled "Your Endocrine Type Recommendations".

There you'll find simple to follow suggestions based on your endocrine type if you want to lose weight. Just follow those recommendations to help you reach your ideal weight.

As I've said before, REAL metabolic typing includes not only your metabolic dominance, but also your endocrine type.

If you eat right for both your dominant and endocrine types, you will definitely control your weight and have yourself looking and feeling better in no time!
