Weight Loss Focus

Weight loss and losing weight have become an obsession with so many people. It has become a self-fulfilling prophecy: I’m over-weight and need to lose weight.

What is your subconscious mind hearing when you speak or even just think this kind of self-talk? It does not recognize negatives, so it hears: I’m over-weight and needy and then it works to fulfil that for you, keeping you over-weight and in need.

So why not try a change of focus in regard to your weight? Try these affirmations for a while and make them part of who you are:

I am beautiful.
I am valuable.
I am worthwhile.
I am powerful.
I love me.
I am lovable.
I am attractive.
I am healthy.
I love life.

Focus on your positive traits and ingrain the emotions that make you feel good about yourself. When you do this regularly, several times a day if you can, you will shift into a more positive self-loving space. And this is a wonderful place to be.

Love who you are as you are, aware that you can be more than you express now, and are working on expanding your love and self acceptance. That’s how you allow yourself the freedom to change, from a base of love, not loathing and derision or despair.

As a practical exercise and to remind you to say these positive affirmations, choose special times during your day, when you’re doing specific tasks. You might repeat them when you look in the mirror as you’re shaving, or ladies, as you’re putting on your make-up . You can affirm your self-loving affirmations when you’re in the shower, as you get dressed, when you’re walking the dog. What you’re doing is not that important; it’s the regular routine associated with the affirmations that will help you ingrain your positive self-identity.

If you feel as though you’re deceiving yourself when you make these positive affirmations, as you may at first, just act as if what you are saying is true. Soon you will be able to accept the truth of what you’re affirming. You will accept that you are, indeed, beautiful, and attractive, and worthwhile. As you start to love yourself more, you may find your need to eat lessens somewhat, because your cells are already feeding on the love you are sending them.

So try loving who you are, just as you are. Then from this base, all your resolves and intentions will be able to build and grow effectively.

This slight shift of affirmation from derision to love, will work wonders in your weight loss quest. Love yourself and gently embrace your own inner and outer attractiveness. Others see you through your eyes too, you know, so show them the beauty you’ve been hiding. The change you seek will then come quietly and of its own accord.
