The reason why we gain weight rapidly is because we eat too frequently, not that we deliberately want to eat these foods, but there are certain conditions that increase our bodies’ desires to eat more even when we are full. Nutritionists and scientists believe that Hunger is the response of our body to stimuli. Most of the factors that increase our desires to consume more food are borne out of some unhealthy lifestyles.

Boredom is one of the reasons why we always consume more food. When most people do not know what to do with their time, they tend to prepare all sorts of dishes or even go out to a fast food joint where they buy all sorts of junks. Aside boredom, some certain medications can also increase your cravings for foods. Medications may trigger some forms of side effects such as increased appetite, when the body reacts to such medications the appetite is strongly increased. Medications that contain mild steroids for instance can trigger an increase in the body’s appetite.

Not having enough sleep is another factor that can increase the body’s craving for extra food. Lack of sleep often alter the functions of the central nervous system alongside some other natural processes in the body, people who do not have regular 7-8 hours of sleep everyday have been found to possess higher chances of weight gain. Regular sleep increases rate of metabolism and it restores back many of the body’s natural processes, lack of sleep puts more pressure on the mental and overall physical alertness on the body and an individual who lack sleep will definitely consume more.

Dehydration is one habit many people do not believe can cause them to eat more. Aside the fact that dehydration can actually make you feel drowsy and with low energy, it may also trigger an increase in your appetite culture. When we do not drink water to make the stomach full, then we consume more food than necessary. You can also eat more than necessary when you allow the habit of eating to take control of you. Many individuals do not imbibe the act of tolerance and they seem to stuff anything in their mouth whenever they feel slightly hungry. If you cannot discipline yourself, you may likely eat more than necessary.

The kind of job you do as well as the location of your place of abode may also increase your tendencies to consume more. Many people have become addict of fast foods today because they stay close to fast food outlets; they find these outlets as means of getting fast meals which seem to be much more convenient than going home to prepare a meal. This habit is unhealthy. People who work in restaurants, hotels and fast food outlets also have the tendencies of eating more than normal, the sight of delicious fatty foods can force many of them to eat such, and some of these restaurants also offer free meals to their staffs, making them to eat more unhealthy foods than healthy ones.
