With today’s society being the way it is, being obese can be very difficult for any individual besides the fact that there obesity is affecting their health. It can affect someone’s mental health in ways that you may not have thought of. Typically, if you’re watching your favourite soap opera on television, chances are that you haven’t seen an obese person on your show, let alone the wide variety of television shows airing. It’s almost as if the television industry is sending a message to the public that being overweight is unacceptable by society’s standards, which put’s a tremendous amount of pressure on the overweight community to look as good as their favourite actor.

The affect that these networks have on these people is unbelievable. If you are overweight, chances are that you do enjoy eating your favourite foods while watching television. Seeing these thin and fit actors may inspire you to lose weight. If not, then you’re probably keeping the thought that you’re not socially accepted by others which could lead to depression and low self-esteem.

Depression and low self-esteem can really affect someone’s mental health if it already hasn’t, which will eventually result in affecting their physical health. Reason being is that the more depressed an individual is, the more there thinking about the same thought. If this thought happens to be that they’re overweight and unaccepted by society, then they will probably dwell on that thought for a long time before the individual actually decides to act upon their thoughts meaning, their weight will continue to rise.

Being depressed about your weight can send you on a vicious cycle of gaining weight without you even noticing. You must be aware that there is a strong possibility that you may develop an eating disorder such as anorexia. Starving yourself or eating very little is not the way to lose weight. Although being overweight may be caused by eating lots of food and this may seem like the easiest way and most efficient way of losing weight, it isn’t. Anorexia is extremely unhealthy due to the fact that your body still needs the proper nutrients in order for you to stay alive.

Starting the process of losing weight can be overwhelming but you will want to keep in mind you are doing this for you. It is very easy to get caught up in depression especially when it’s due to your weight because you see yourself in the mirror every day. That alone should be enough reason for you to self-motivate yourself to start losing those pounds. The two most crucial factors that will help you achieve your weight loss goal are proper nutrition and regular exercise. There are many other options that you can consider such as diet pills.

At the end of the day, you are in control of your weight whether you think so or not. If you keep eating those greasy foods and not exercising, you will be putting yourself in a deeper hole of depression than you could already be in. The use of diet pills will help you achieve your weight loss goal but will not get you to your goal. You must have a good diet that provides your body with the proper nutrients that it needs as well as a good exercise routine. Once you notice yourself starting to lose weight, your self-esteem will go up, your depression will slowly dissipate and you will start to feel more energetic. Remember, keep your head up because the more you push yourself to strive, the greater the chances of you accomplishing your weight loss goal become.
