Perricone weight loss diet

The Perricone diet, named after its author Nicholas Perricone, is based on the idea that what you eat has a direct result on your body including skin. According to the author almost half of the skin ageing is caused by sugar. It causes inflammation of skin and makes it sag. The Perricone weight loss diet plan prescribes the kind of foods you should eat, including the order in which they should be eaten, the kind of exercises that you should perform; the kind of supplements with meals, and what to apply on the skin at what time of the day.


The following menu is prescribed to be followed for three days:

 

On waking up

 

250 to 400 ml of spring water.

 

Breakfast

  • 3 egg whites and one whole egg, or 90 to 125 grams piece of broiled salmon.
  • Half a cup of cooked oatmeal.
  • 125 grams of cantaloupe or one-fourth cup of fresh berries.
  • 250 to 400 ml of spring water if drinking more is not possible.

 

Lunch

  • 125 to 175 grams of grilled salmon or tuna packed with spring water.
  • Two cups of romaine lettuce.
  • One tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • 125 grams of cantaloupe or one-fourth a cup of fresh berries.
  • 250 to 400 ml of spring water as a minimum.


Mid-afternoon snack

 

  • 60 grams of chicken breast, low in salt or plain 225 ml yoghurt.
  • 4 raw unsalted hazelnuts.
  • Half of a green apple.
  • Spring water, 250 to 400 ml.

 

Dinner

  • 125 to 175 grams of grilled salmon.
  • Two cups of romaine lettuce.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • A cup of steamed broccoli, asparagus, or spinach with a dressing of little bit of olive oil.
  • 125 grams of cantaloupe or one-fourth a cup of fresh berries.
  • Minimum of 250 to 400 ml of spring water.

 

Snack before sleeping

 

  • 50 to 60 grams of low fat and low in salt turkey/chicken breast or 250 ml of plain yoghurt.
  • Half a green apple or pear.
  • Three or four olives or almonds.
  • 250 to 400 ml of spring water.
