What Is The Fat Smash Diet?

Dr. Ian Smith created a television show for VH1 called Celebrity Fit Club, in which celebrities competed to lose weight, and along with the show created a diet called the fat smash diet. The diet is based on changing bad habits in both eating and exercise.

Ian Smith's resume prior to creating the fat smash diet is impressive. He's Harvard educated, consults on health for a number of television shows, and is on the board for the American Council on Exercise. He also created the TV show that was centered around his fat smash diet.

There are four phases within the fat smash diet:

One – detox: During this nine day phase of the fat smash diet people purge their bodies and minds of bad things, while losing up to six pounds. Amongst other weird habits to get into during this phase, Smith suggests walking around in a bathing suit and weighing yourself in front of a mirror.

Two – foundation: This is a three-week phase of the fat smash diet during which many foods removed in the detox phase are re-added to the diet. These include the 3 ounces of meat or seafood, and is based on portion control rather than calorie count.

Three – construction: The fat smash diet builds a healthy eating plan over the course of these four weeks, utilizing foods the dieter enjoys. Whereas Atkins forbids these foods like white breads and desserts, the fat smash diet embraces them, in moderation.

Four – Temple: This is the portion of the fat smash diet that lasts the rest of your life. People utilize the lessons learned about moderation to protect the temple the built throughout the first three phases.

Overall the fat smash diet is just OK. The initial 6 to 10 pound weight loss is really due to severe calorie cutting which can be dangerous. Many experts find that nine day detox phase to be troubling. But the fat smash diet is spot on when it comes to eating in moderation and physical activity.
