A Useful Weight Reduction And Diet Tip

Going on and off diets consistently is not out of the ordinary. It happens all the time and for very varied reasons. There are new diets on the market almost weekly and it is easy to get into the merry go round of, on a diet, off a diet and on to the next diet.

Yet with all this yo-yo dieting going on, people continue to talk about the need to lose weight and statistics keep showing that, especially in the U.S. our population is getting fatter

As for myself, for years I was trying to lose 10 pounds. I was always trying to exercise more and to eat less. Many of the women I talked to seemed to be in the same boat. It appeared we were all trying very hard to lose weight. Just about everyone I spoke to would give me advice on weight reduction and diet tips.

The frustration people seemed to be experiencing surrounding weight loss had to do with the concept of trying. Trying to lose weight or trying to stick to a diet.

The best diet tip I have received was to "stop trying and start committing" to losing weight.

There are many good and some great diet plans out there. Pick one and commit to it. Once you have chosen your plan get a piece of paper and write down these three questions and your answers to them:

1. How much weight would I be willing to commit to losing?
2. How much time am I willing to invest in reaching my weight loss goals?
3. What would losing the weight mean to me?

Once you write your answers to these three questions you are ready to start.

As you look at your commitment to weight loss in writing a shift in perspective will likely occur. You will no longer be trying to lose weight; you will be committed to weight loss and better health.

Studies have shown that putting a commitment or an intention in writing and reviewing it often, greatly increase the odds of achieving the desired outcome. Picking the right diet isn't going to help you achieve weight loss if you are not totally committed to the process.

Trying to lose weight always gives you an automatic trapdoor for escape if you feel it gets to hard. A commitment to weight loss is a little harder to walk away from. If weight loss has been a struggle try this useful weight reduction and diet tip. Don't forget to put it all down on paper and review you commitment each day.

Trying to lose weight can be a challenge. Committing to losing weight is infinitely much easier.
