Shed That Unwanted Fat With Liposuction Or Tumescent Liposuction

In some cases, no matter how hard we exercise or how much dieting we do, we still can't seem to shed those fat deposits on are back, hips, thighs or abdomens. This is why more and more people are turning to liposuction to help get rid of that stubborn, excess fat. It is not intended to be a weight loss procedure but rather a cosmetic treatment to help people look and feel better about themselves. Liposuction is a process to remove excess fat deposits that cause lumps and bulges. A thin suction tube is inserted into the body through a very small incision. The tube literally vacuums fat out of the body in the desired areas. Tumescent liposuction, a relatively new procedure is growing in popularity as I will explain why in more detail.

The most popular area of the body that both men and women seek the removing of fat deposits includes the chin, hips, abdomen, thighs, lower legs and knees. Men also request treatment on enlarged male breasts because of the embarrassment they can create. There are many different forms of liposuction available but one stands out more than the others. Tumescent liposuction is a procedure that uses natural saline solution, a diluted local anesthetic as well as adrenaline. This solution is dispersed into the fat deposit. The area is locally anesthetized with an injection, therefore, a general anesthesia is not required. Patient recovery is often quicker since the patient is awake during the entire procedure.

With tumescent liposuction, a smaller tube is used to remove the fat which helps reduce the amount of bleeding and bruising. Most patients are able to return to their regular routine within a few days but of course, some require a longer recovery period. The best liposuction results come with a smaller tube. Although it takes longer to treat a patient, the smaller vacuum tube leaves smaller and narrower ridges and that translates into smoother looking skin. The important thing to do if you are considering this type of procedure is to speak to your doctor first. Make sure to use a certified plastic surgeon and always complete your due diligence before proceeding.
