The ultimate fat loss secret is... EAT LESS!

I hope that was not too anticlimactic for you. Unfortunately there really is not any great secret to losing weight. I wish I could tell you to just go purchase some magic pill that will make the weight melt off of you, but that pill does not exist. The truth is that eating less really is the ultimate weight loss secret. It is the one tip that will always work 100% of the time in helping people shed some extra pounds.

As complex as the human body is in many ways it is very easy to understand. Just like a car our bodies require a certain amount of fuel to function. The fuel that our bodies use is called calories.

A calorie is defined as: A unit of energy equal to the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius. One calorie is equivalent to 4.1868 joules.

How do we get calories? By eating of course.

This means that the entire trick to losing weight is based around how much we eat.

Eat Less, Lose Weight.

Get it? The trick then becomes getting into the habit of eating less food than our bodies demand. If you eat fewer calories than your body needs to function, it will look elsewhere for the energy it needs to get through the day. In other words your body will start burning the fat it has stored up.

Quick Weight Loss Action Plan -

1. Determine how many calories your body needs per day (do a Google search for "calorie calculator")

2. Limit your calorie intake to at least 300 calories less than the number you arrived at in step 1. If your body requires 2000 calories per day, your maximum intake to lose weight should be 1700.

3. Drink at least 8 8oz cups of water (or a low calorie water alternative) per day. Sometimes we mistake thirst for hunger, so before you reach for a snack try drinking some water. Our bodies can't process cold water. If you drink ice water you will force your body to burn calories in order to raise the water to a manageable temperature.

4. Remove your favorite snack foods from your home. Eliminate temptation!

5. Get your friends and family to join you in your new healthy lifestyle. Support is crucial for success.

6. Give yourself a cheat day. You have been good all week. Treat yourself to a day off.

Weight loss is not easy. It require dedication to a plan that is not going to be easy to follow. There will be times you want to quit. There will be times it seems like you are seeing no results. There will be times you break down and eat something you should not have.

Don't worry about. No one is perfect.

Just stick the plan as best you can and you will see results.
