Reduce Weight - Think Vegetarian - Get Your Diet On Track And Start Moving!

To reduce weight requires a special commitment - a lifestyle change. As a nation we are getting things drastically wrong when it comes to what we eat and how we exercise. It's time to say it straight: if you are overweight or obese, you are either eating more than your body needs or you are not moving enough. More than likely you are doing both.

These days we are much more aware of what it takes to reduce weight successfully, but it's action that's required.

STOP MAKING EXCUSES! Getting yourself in the right frame of mind is the all-important first step. You have to want more than anything, to be healthier, to move better and to be proud of how you look.

Decide exactly what you want (how you want your body to look, how confident you want to feel, how much energy you want, how healthy you want to be, and so on.)

* Make sure you have a burning desire for what you want to achieve.
* Write your goals down. If you have them in writing you can't change them later on.
* Visualize what you want as though you have already achieved it.
* Believe that you can achieve it.
* Take action now (no procrastination).
To be successful at anything, all your excuses need to go out the window.

Most exercise physiologists and personal trainers would love it if exercise was the only key to weight loss however diet is where you need to be looking next. The old adage, "You can't out-train a bad diet" is true. If your diet is poor then unfortunately, training is a waste of time.

Keeping active is essential. Once you've started to reduce weight with dietary changes, increasing your activity will allow you to maintain your success and shed even more kilos/lbs.

If you are doing everything right and are still not losing weight, you may have a hormone imbalance. It is wise to arrange a visit to your doctor before commencing these new lifestyle changes.

Looking at the average diet of Western society - bread, pasta, meat, dairy, processed foods, carbonated drinks, alcohol, fried foods and sugar - it is not surprising that the health of our nation is so poor.

Make to-day the day you stop ignoring what your body is trying to tell you and decide to take action. Think vegetarian!
