Eating Healthy Weight Loss Plan

by Lindelwa Maseko

A wise approach for natural weight loss is to ensure your calorific intake meets your physical activity levels. This should be an easy concept but for many overweight Americans (around 35 percent) and for people in other countries, who are gradually catching up, this is not the case. Despite this, most of these overweight people want to be trim again although it is probably more for cosmetic reasons than those related to their health.

But the fact is it is a whole lot easier to prevent putting on pounds than to try losing them later on. Nevertheless weight maintenance is something that has to be worked on and planned otherwise we will put on extra pounds.

Studies have shown that it is more likely a person who has lost weight using a calorie controlled diet, even if they actually enjoyed it, are more likely to go back to their old eating habits at some point. You can maintain your weight through natural weight loss methods and even if being at the centre of unwanted attention doesn’t convince you, surely your health should.

Most health experts contend that the significance of excess weight is more than cosmetic as it takes a huge toll on a person’s physical health. The annoying part is that natural weight maintenance is not difficult to understand but overweight people choose to ignore this.

Healthy eating on a natural weight loss program means learning to eat the right foods such as complex carbohydrates, those high in fiber, low in fat and a little protein. If you were looking at a meal then this would be a baked potato (carbohydrate), the vegetables would be the fiber and a little meat, is the protein.

Dietary fat is a problem because it is full of calories which will be converted into body fat unlike calories that are consumed in food from other sources. Another problem is the obsession with fat free or low fat foods that food manufactures are stacking the shelves with which despite their popularity are not stopping the problem of obesity.

What people fail to understand is that it isn’t just fat in their food that is making them put on weight, it’s the quantity of food they consume and the calorific content of it. Where this goes wrong is with overweight people who think that if it’s fat free they can eat more of it instead of eating a healthy snack.

It is believed in some circles that a natural method of weight loss is to eat less but more often without actually missing meals, which can get you into bad habits. When combined with regular exercise, this natural weight loss plan offers a way to lose unwanted pounds in the long run.
