With 42% of Dieters dropping out it's no wonder that everyone is searching for the ultimate diet solution. The industry is growing in leaps with sales in excess of $2 billion a year.

So it is only with complete irony that the ultimate weight loss strategy is not to diet. Over the next several weeks, I'll build upon the ultimate weight loss strategy. Say goodbye to diets and find happiness.

Sounds odd, doesn't it? It is only human nature to want what we can't have. If we tell ourselves we can't eat certain foods, we want them all the more. The more you deny yourself, the more you crave and ultimately, we binge. We consume so much food to make up for the denial we've placed upon ourselves.

Inevitably, the emotional side of eating takes hold and we find ourselves loathing who we are. Then, we simply fall back on the comfort foods because they make us happy.


What can we do now?

The first step in finding your true fit self is to eat.
Eating is natural and we need to eat to survive. Eat what you want and don't deny your pleasures.
BUT
That does not mean bingeing or stuffing yourself until you can't move. It is funny how we deny ourselves food, but when we do get to eat, we consume it so fast that we don't enjoy the food. We don't savor the flavors and find how the food covers our palate.

Eat what you want, but take time to chew. Put down your fork and chew. Then drink some water. And repeat.

Leave some food on the plate. It doesn't have to be a lot, but leave some food on the plate. This will send a signal to your brain to say that you are in control and just because it is there, doesn't mean you're going to devour it.
