How To Lose Your Belly Fat Naturally

Belly fat is not only aesthetically unsightly, it can also be a threat to your health because belly visceral fat is deposited deep in the abdomen around the organs and may cause diseases such diabetes, stroke and cardiac diseases. So if you noticed that you have a bulging tummy, then it is time for to start losing your belly fat.

First and foremost, you can't target specifically the area you want to lose fat in unless you undergo invasive medical procedures such as liposuction. In any case, if you intend to lose weight naturally through dieting and exercise, your body fat will come off all over you, including those in your tummy. If you have failed in losing weight before, then you may wish to hire professional weight loss personal trainers to help you to lose weight successfully.

In order to lose weight so that you can reduce your belly fat, start to develop good healthy eating habits. Begin by reducing starchy foods such as sugar, white rice, pasta, white bread, noodles, confectioneries and pastries from your meals. Starchy foods cause your insulin level to rise and thereby the accumulation of fat. Many people do actually see a reduction in belly fat in just a matter of weeks just by limiting their starchy food intake.

Next, instead of eating three heavy meals a day, spread your meals to five or six times a day. By doing this, you are cranking up your metabolism all day long as well as not allowing your body to go into "starvation mode" when your stomach is empty. During starvation mode, your body tends to accumulate fat. That is why skipping meals, especially breakfast do not work very well in weight reduction.

I had a good laugh recently when I overheard a doctor advising his overweight patient how to lose weight. He summed it up in one word, exercise.

What is so funny about that you may ask? Exercise helps you to lose weight, doesn't it? Of course it does, but not all exercises are the same. Some are more effective than the others and some have almost no effect in fat burning. Then what about duration or how often to exercise? What about raising certain hormones such as testosterone from certain types of exercises to burn even more fats? So by just mentioning exercise, the doctor left many questions unanswered leaving his patient none the wiser.

Now what I am going to say next may surprised many people. The best exercise to lose body fat is weight bearing exercises to build muscles and not long boring cardio exercises. Did you noticed that I said "lose fat" and not "lose weight"? This is because when you build muscles, you will gain weight because of the increased muscle mass but at the same time lose body fat.

The more muscles you have, the higher your metabolic rate will be and thus you will become a natural fat furnace burning more fat all the time even when you are sedentary. Furthermore, your body shape will be more attractive because you will look toned and healthy.

When you are building muscles, many of the calories that you eat will be used up to repair your muscles from the rigorous workouts and to fuel muscle growth and thus far less calories will be stored as body fat. Better yet, when you have gotten rid of your belly fat and your abs muscles can be seen and you will now be the proud owner a magnificent six pack abs.
