5 Easy Steps To Lose Belly Fat

Here are 5 Easy Steps to Lose Belly Fat, once and for all:

1) Take the supplement CLA. In studies done in the US and two Swedish studies in 2001 and 2004, research showed belly fat loss of 4% in patients without any calorie reductions. In addition to belly fat reduction, CLA also enhanced muscle growth, increased metabolism and lowered insulin resistance, cholesterol and triglycerides. This stuff really packs a wallop and does so without any known side effects.

2) Lower your cortisol levels. There are a number of things that cause us to have higher cortisol levels. But the big four are Stress, Caffeine, Insulin and Sleep Deprivation. As you might expect, some of these are easier to handle than others. Following are a few things that might help in lowering your cortisol levels:

A) Try to reduce the stress in your life. Tie up loose ends finish incomplete projects and learn to 'just say no' to projects that may bring additional stress into your life.

B) Reduce or better yet eliminate the amount of caffeine you take in each day. Though that cup of coffee may wake you up in the morning, it would be better to go to bed earlier and not need that cup of joe.

C) Reduce the number of carbohydrates you eat, and make sure those you do have are complex carbohydrates rather than simple carbohydrates. This will help keep your insulin level low and reduce your cortisol levels.

D) Go to bed an hour earlier each night. For most of us, this will be rather difficult, but well worth the sacrifice. Though an hour would be better, even a half hour will help. Being tired, always increases your appetite.

E) Take vitamin C supplements (1000mg daily is a good amount). In a study done by the University of Pretoria in South Africa, vitamin C helped combat stress by lowering cortisol levels by up to 30%. Because vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin it only stays in the body about 6 hours, so space your intake accordingly.

3) Increase your intake of Omega-3 Fatty Acids. The benefits derived from increasing your Omega-3 intake is huge, but when trying to lose belly fat, Omega-3's help balance our blood sugars (thus reducing our insulin levels and cortisol levels), and help us absorb Leptin, our body's natural appetite suppressant. (As we gain weight, our bodies lose their ability to absorb Leptin.)

4) Lower your calorie intake. OK, you knew this was going to have to be in here somewhere, right. But you don't have to starve yourself. Simply reduce your daily intake of calories by 100 for every 10 pounds of weight you want to lose. Is there something you eat every day or most days you could do without? Now you get the picture. By decreasing your caloric intake by 100 each day, you will lose 10 pounds in a years time.

5) Increase your metabolism. If you're not already exercising daily, get moving. You don't have to be the next triathlon champion, just go for a walk. The more you move the more you lose. Get a cheap pedometer and gradually increase the number of steps you take each day. Make a game out of it. Regular exercise will improve your metabolism and improve muscle tone. And more muscles will burn more fat.
