Proper Diet and Targeted Exercises - the Keys to Lose Belly Fat

Everyone wants the perfect six-pack abs, similar with those of Hollywood stars. However, people often complain that all the workout, stretching and crunches don't work. This is because they are doing it wrong. If you really want to lose belly fat and develop 6-pack abs, you should combine specific exercises with proper diet.

First, you must know that achieving sexy abs need time and effort. Do not easily be convinced by "magical" diet pills that advertise with photos of sexy abs. When you lose weight, you lose fat from your whole body and not specifically from the waistline and abdominal areas. Also, don't buy those ab-crunchers and roller training products. They just tire your abdominal muscles without sculpting them and without burning enough body fats.
Sculpting the abdominal area is always a two-fold process. It is a combination of proper diet and proper exercises. You shouldn't go to the gym right away. In fact, you need not go the gym at all. You can do all the necessary exercises on your own. But remember to buff your body enough before you start the rigorous training.

First, cut down on unnecessary fats. Reduce your intake of deep fried foods, foods with shortenings, pastries, junk foods and too much sweets. These foods are high in sugar which, when left unused, can be stored as excess fats in the belly, arms and thighs. Remember that you want to build muscles mass and not fatty tissues. Instead, focus on taking protein-rich foods. These include lean portions of meats, milk, legumes, peanuts and seeds.

Besides the muscle-targeted exercises, you should perform cardiovascular exercises to lose belly fat. In fact, you should perform cardio first to prepare your body. You should lessen your body's fat ratio before sculpting it. Men should reduce their body fat percentage to 8% and women down to 13%. These activities do not target muscles directly. Instead, it targets the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

Do jogging, running, biking, hiking and swimming. These exercises will burn excess fats and eventually reduce your weight. It will also help to walk more. Instead of taking the elevator, why not use the stairs? Cardio activities will also train your metabolism to passively use fat. Hence, your body will be more efficient in transporting oxygen and burning fat - even when you're doing nothing.

Isolation exercises are the key to achieve the perfect abs. You should perform bench presses, squats, shoulder presses and chin ups. Do about 4 sets each for the exercises mentioned and no more. Remember that rushing the exercises and overexerting yourself will do more harm than good. Train for intensity and do not exceed 15 sets per training session.

Furthermore, there are lower body exercises that can help lose belly fat and tone your abs. You can perform hanging leg raises and bicycles. These exercises target the thigh muscles and your abs as well. However, these exercises are extremely tiring for newbies. Don't give up easily and don't rush it because you cannot obtain the perfect abs overnight. Start small and increase the intensity of your training gradually.
