How To Lose Belly Fat

In a poll, readers were asked to list their least favorite body parts. The hands down, most popular response was? "My belly!"

Most of us care how we look in our clothes but it goes far deeper than that. Studies have found conclusively that abdominal fat leads to higher risks of heart disease, diabetes and even some types of cancers.

If you are like the rest of us, the fast food and lack of meaningful exercise leads to a resulting protruding stomach. But did you realize that extreme work stress also can add to the inches around the stomach?

Lets face it, ask 1000 people what portion of the body they would like reduced and the response would be "lose Bblly fat".

The majority of Americans have too much off it and that is why the rich drug corporations overload us with pills (prescription and over the counter), every type of exercise equipment and weight loss food delivered right to your home.

Do you realize that a lot of "health foods" are really high calorie junk foods that can actually increase the size of your belly. Never forget that the diet food marketing industry will keep right on slanting the truth so they can maximize their profits. Make no mistake, they are in it for the profits not your health!

As we get up in years our metabolism slows down, and the amount of fat in our body increases ever so slowly. Women, I am sorry to say, experience an even higher fat percentage increases than men do. After menopause, female body fat tends to shift less in your arms, legs and hips, and more in your abdomen. It is a fact of life that we must all accept and then do something about it.

Way back during the pre-historic times bodies were designed to store fat for release during times of famine when there was not enough food. Belly fat was never a consideration.

In modern times we put on weight due too poor eating or lack of exercise and usually don't need to be concerned about a lack of food for our table. Our fat cells start to release fat molecules into the blood at a higher rate. This affects the bodies normal metabolism and the way the body uses insulin. These changes increase your risk of health problems, such as:

Diabetes

High blood pressure

High triglycerides and low HDL ("good" cholesterol)

Insulin resistance

The key is to understand how your body works and for you to have a workable plan that you can put into place over a period of time. This is not a quick fix. Like most good things it will take some patience. Take the turtle approach, slow and steady, and you'll accomplish those weight loss goals.

Investigate what is available and do some research. Perhaps look for satisfied customers who have purchased and used products you are thinking of purchasing.

Some doctors are urging people to use a colon/liver cleaning product prior to starting a diet. This type of program is increasing in popularity.

Whatever plan you choose, stay with it and give it a reasonable chance.
